I recently hurt my back. Really badly. Well, technically it wasn’t just my back. It was also a muscle in my groin that went “pop” whilst stretching a little too much at the gym. Which then led to a whole fiasco with the psoas muscle and sciatica which resulted in spasms not only down my leg, but also up my back which placed pressure on my diaphragm which resulted in breathing not as optimally as I would like whenever I was sitting down. Not much fun, hey.
What if you spent the month of April making a conscious effort to reduce your footprint on the planet?
We all have to make decisions each and every day about how we choose to live our life and the products we choose to purchase. There are many alternatives that we can start to integrate in to our lives to help make the planet a cleaner, healthier and more enjoyable place to live. Continue reading →
I have a not-so-new love that I am forever singing its praises at is has been energizing and relaxing me for the past two years: the self-healing acupressure pranamat. On days when I wake up without a spring in my step, I lay on it for twenty minutes and my energy levels are restored. When I’m in a frustrated or stressed mood I lay on it for thirty to forty minutes with my eyes closed, and am surprisingly a lot calmer and level-headed once I get up. And on nights when I have a million and one thoughts racing around my head, instead of going to bed to stare at the ceiling, I lay on the pranamat for forty minutes. Afterwards it feels like I have had a tranquilizer and am ready for sleep. This magic little friend of mine is also the ONLY thing that I have found to help relieve PMS – particularly the dull aching lower back pain. Continue reading →
Take a listen to the lovely Bianca Dye talking about and testing the acupressure pranamat live on air on her radio show i98FM.
Bianca is in to yoga and meditation and just happens to love us. Here’s a snippet of my favourite bit: “I love all this self help stuff … and there’s this company called Be Genki who I’m absolutely in love with at the moment. They do all sorts of beautiful stuff, teas, and face products … and I saw this online and I thought I have to get one … it’s called the new self-healing pranamat, helps to relax and revitalize your body and mind. It’s meant to help with depression, headaches, muscle tone.”
Thank you Bianca xx you rock!!! xx
Is it just me or has EVERYONE got some sort of flu like symptom at the moment?
Coming from someone who is rarely ever ill, I have spent the past few days asking question after question wondering what it is that my body is going through. I don’t feel sick. My glands aren’t inflamed. But I had one day where my kidneys, pelvis and legs felt like they had been beaten by a cricket bat, and then the following three days my throat has been rather strange and if I laugh I then can’t stop coughing. OK… way too much information to share, I know. But I do have some lovely gems to share with you as we go through this change of seasons. Continue reading →

When I’m in a frustrated or stressed mood I lay on it for 30 to 40 minutes with my eyes closed, and am surprisingly a lot calmer and level-headed once I get up. Continue reading →
A couple of months ago I was introduced to the pranamat, a self-healing tool that helps to relax and revitalise the body and mind. Initially I was attracted to the stylish colours and 100% natural and eco-friendly materials, but on hearing the health benefits all I wanted to do was road test one. The reason being, is that I spend a large portion of my day working on my laptop, and as a result tension is sometimes held within my shoulders and back. Continue reading →
