As we approach our 8th birthday, I am literally bursting out of my skin at the excitement of the relaunch of Be genki this coming June 2014. Integrate Something New in to Your Daily Life to Help Bring About a More Naturally Beautiful You

benaturallyou2 Whether you’re
new to receiving
Be Genki rituals, or have been reading and following them for years I’d love to express my deepest gratitude for your support and for simply taking a moment in time to stop whatever it is that you’re doing to read the latest post.

After a lovely holiday over the Christmas break, I’ve decided to hang up my Be Genki blog boots for 12 months to focus on Be Naturallyou – my latest project and that which is particularly close to my heart. Terribly sorry if you’ve grown to love the Be Genki blog but there’s only so much a girl can do / fit in to one day; and I am sure that you will love Be Naturallyou. Continue reading

December Ritual: Create a Space of Relaxation, Serenity and Love this December, by Making it a Priority to be Kind and Thoughtful to Your Self

womanbeachWhilst the holiday season is something that most of us look forward to, jumping with joy, it can also become a little stressful, frustrating and exhausting.

With the risk of sounding a little like the Scroodge, please be sensible. It’s not called the silly season for no reason. Partying, drinking, indulging, overeating and running around like a headless chicken from event-to-event and shop-to-shop, trying to please everyone but yourself, it’s no wonder many of us feel tired, rundown, overweight and stressed as the new year rolls around. Make the Commitment to Exercise, to Help Reduce Stress and Improve the Healthy Glow of your Complexion

I don’t know about you, but I really start to feel it if I don’t exercise for a few weeks: I become more lazy and sleep in that little bit longer, I become brilliant at conjuring up reasons why I deserve my sleep ins, my mood drops, I lack inspiration and no longer have that spring in my step or vibrant energy that I love so much. It scares the pants off me!

So as not to fall in to that trap again I have made a commitment of 5 times a week to just do it. Whether it’s a yoga class, yoga in my lounge room or hotel room, workout at the gym, walk in the countryside or dance session, it’s got to be something active. Continue reading

October Ritual: Become Consciously Aware of all that Goes in Your Mouth and on Your Skin

October is Vegetarian Awareness Month, a wonderful initiative to help inspire us to think about what goes in our mouth and how our choices can impact the world in which we share. We can all stick our head in the sand, if we so choose, and ignore the reality of what goes on in the world. Or we can do something about it. We live on this planet and have the power to vote every day with the choices we make at the supermarket/deli/grocery and department store. Every time you buy a product you are saying to that company, ‘keep on doing what you are doing.’ You are supporting everything that company does: every source of raw material, every packaging solution, every environmental standard that they are undertaking, every form of employee relations, every marketing choice. September Ritual: Begin Each Morning with Dry Skin Brushing and Full Body Moisturising to Promote Beautiful Smooth Skin and Awakening for the Body and Mind

One of the first things I do every morning is dry skin brushing. It’s a wonderful body treatment for exfoliating and promoting beautiful soft skin, and is really worth the extra couple of minutes it takes each morning. If you don’t already practice this daily ritual, give it a go for the next 30 days and judge for yourself just how much softer your skin feels. Continue reading

Inspired by Flowers

Have you ever stopped for a moment to get completely swept away by the beauty and vibrance of colour that flowers gift to the world? Quite something really!

It’s a little thing that I’ve been particularly captivated by lately, to just stop, pause and gaze for a few moments. Perhaps it’s because I just happen to be in the oh so lovely English countryside at present, with all the flowers blooming, or maybe it’s the little family of bees that greet me each morning and afternoon when I get home as they buzz around the flower bed at the front door, or perhaps it’s just nature’s way of gifting something truly beautiful to the day, or maybe it’s my deep dive in to Aura-Soma which has helped to open my eyes to the world of colour? All of the above I’d say, and more. Continue reading

Practice Meditation for a Healthy Mind and Spirit

If there’s one little ritual to implement in you your daily practice I encourage it to be meditation. To just sit and ‘be’. A simple act that is not-so-simple at the very same time.

The act is simple. Sit still, focus on your breathing and continue to do so for about an hour. Having the mental discipline to go beyond the reflexive, “thinking” mind and into a deep state of relaxation, however, is a challenge to say the least. Continue reading

The Importance of Balance

Sometimes when we get dis-ease in the body, it has nothing to do with “catching a virus” or “catching a bug” or pulling a muscle, but more so to do with some other underlying emotional issue or unresolved issue from the past; and sometimes we create the dis-ease, pain or discomfort ourselves on the subconscious level, and other times something different altogether, beyond our rational thinking mind.
