Lamb Love

lamb cuddles

Some things are just too cute not to share …
the new baby lambs at Shire Farm.

One thing is always for certain, if you’re having a particularly challenging moment in life, the best remedy is nature in all its innocence completely free from silly insignificant thoughts that pollute the minds of humans. Sweet little fluffy animals are undoubtedly therapy for the soul.

The Beauty of Nature : Wild Deer and a Duck Dancing on Water

Sometimes its just lovely to simply sit and be, especially when surrounded by nature, as you never know what might show up.

I couldn’t resist sharing these beautiful moments in time from my last weekend in the countryside, whilst pausing for a moment on a tree stump.

Such a joy to be gifted a herd of wild deer playing about and doing their thing, and then a duck doing a little dance on water. I kid you not! Look closely at the picture below. Continue reading

Oh, the Places You’ll Go at Burning Man

Love love love this version of one of my favorite books about life’s ups and downs Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr Seuss, told by the people of Burning Man. A must watch!

Thank you for all your support throughout 2011. As always, I am truly grateful for your continued belief in Be Genki. Such a joy to be doing what I love to be doing, with continued love and encouragement from you.

I once heard a phrase that I like to remind myself of often:

those who believe in magic, are those who get to experience it.

Wishing you a wonderfully happy and healthy holidays with the new year bringing with it an abundance of love and magic.  xSam

Create a Space of Relaxation, Serenity and Love this December, by Making it a Priority to be Kind and Thoughtful to Your Self.

Whilst the holiday season is something that most of us look forward to, jumping with joy, it can also become a little stressful, frustrating and exhausting.

With the risk of sounding a little like the Scroodge, please be sensible. It’s not called the silly season for no reason. Partying, drinking, indulging, overeating and running around like a headless chicken from event-to-event and shop-to-shop, trying to please everyone but yourself, it’s no wonder many of us feel tired, rundown, overweight and stressed as the new year rolls around. Green School

I first heard about Green School via a TED talk a number of years ago, so when the invitation presented itself to visit whilst in Bali with some dear friends we jumped at the opportunity.

Love the concept! Loved seeing all the little kiddies running around outside, playing in nature, as opposed to cooped up indoors underneath fluorescent lighting playing with plastic toys or in front of a computer screen. Love the vegetable gardens interspersed between the classrooms. Loved the farmyard animals. Love that the entire school is built from bamboo. Continue reading

Green Inspiration from Switzerland

The first thoughts that come to mind when I hear the word Switzerland are ‘eco’ and ‘green’ – not only for the beautiful lush green valleys and mountains sprinkled with pretty flowers, but also for the admirable respect the people of Switzerland have for nature, the environment and sustainability. And how apparent that it is indeed green that we associate with this region. Continue reading

Postcards from Shire Farm

This first video clip is not actually at Shire Farm. Just a lovely little field that we stumbled across whilst going for morning walks.

At Shire Farm in Lincolnshire, where many of the plants and herbs are grown using bio-dynamic methods for the Aura-Soma colour-care product range and AEOS skin care range, standing stones have been placed at the energy centres within the landscape. These chakra areas with standing stones and other natural and sculpted formations mirror the human chakra energy system, enhancing the natural flow and wellbeing of the energy of the farm, and enriching the fertility of the soil. If you’re interested in reading more about Shire Farm click here for a previous blog entry written after my first visit.
