Make the Commitment to Exercise, to Help Reduce Stress and Improve the Healthy Glow of your Complexion

I don’t know about you, but I really start to feel it if I don’t exercise for a few weeks: I become more lazy and sleep in that little bit longer, I become brilliant at conjuring up reasons why I deserve my sleep ins, my mood drops, I lack inspiration and no longer have that spring in my step or vibrant energy that I love so much. It scares the pants off me!

So as not to fall in to that trap again I have made a commitment of 5 times a week to just do it. Whether it’s a yoga class, yoga in my lounge room or hotel room, workout at the gym, walk in the countryside or dance session, it’s got to be something active. Continue reading

The Importance of Balance

Sometimes when we get dis-ease in the body, it has nothing to do with “catching a virus” or “catching a bug” or pulling a muscle, but more so to do with some other underlying emotional issue or unresolved issue from the past; and sometimes we create the dis-ease, pain or discomfort ourselves on the subconscious level, and other times something different altogether, beyond our rational thinking mind. make a wish

Thank you for all your support throughout 2011. As always, I am truly grateful for your continued belief in Be Genki. Such a joy to be doing what I love to be doing, with continued love and encouragement from you.

I once heard a phrase that I like to remind myself of often:

those who believe in magic, are those who get to experience it.

Wishing you a wonderfully happy and healthy holidays with the new year bringing with it an abundance of love and magic.  xSam

Create a Space of Relaxation, Serenity and Love this December, by Making it a Priority to be Kind and Thoughtful to Your Self.

Whilst the holiday season is something that most of us look forward to, jumping with joy, it can also become a little stressful, frustrating and exhausting.

With the risk of sounding a little like the Scroodge, please be sensible. It’s not called the silly season for no reason. Partying, drinking, indulging, overeating and running around like a headless chicken from event-to-event and shop-to-shop, trying to please everyone but yourself, it’s no wonder many of us feel tired, rundown, overweight and stressed as the new year rolls around. Balance Your Body, Mind and Emotions with Zen Ki Yoga and Enjoy a Stronger Core, Perky Butt and Overall Sense of Wellbeing

As much as I love to exercise, I often get a little bored doing the same thing every day or week. Even jogs on the beach lose their appeal after a few months. There is however, one exercise that I swear by, and that I have kept up with every week for the past  five years – Zen Ki Yoga.

However, to call it yoga is not quite painting the “right” picture. It’s more than ‘just yoga’ and so very different to anything that I have ever done before.  Continue reading

Jog Your Way to Meditative Moments of Solitary Quiet Time

One of my greatest joys is waking up on the weekends, rolling out of bed and going for a jog on the beach. It is most certainly a wonderful way to begin the day in a relaxing manner. I know it may seem a little strange to describe going for a jog as relaxing but please hear me out.   Continue reading

Strengthen Your Core, Tone Your Tummy and Improve Flexibility with Pilates

Doing what I do, I am extremely fortunate to meet some truly inspiring and exceptional people across all areas of wellbeing, as I love to constantly challenge myself and look at new ways to pamper my body and mind. Personally I believe that it’s always a good idea to try new things as opposed to getting stuck in the same old rut. My latest “new” experience was with Pilates. Being a yoga devotee, Pilates was just one of those things that I never got around to doing. Continue reading

Take a Little Inspiration From Nature This Autumn

Each year I love to watch the leaves turn from greens to yellows to browns and slowly make their way to the ground as they are being shed from the branches above. It’s a lovely annual ritual that nature adheres to, and one that we could all take a little inspiration from.

Just as the trees shed their leaves each year, Autumn is a perfect time and opportunity for us to let go of anything that is holding us back from reaching our full potential and health goals. Continue reading
