September Ritual: Begin Each Morning with Dry Skin Brushing and Full Body Moisturising to Promote Beautiful Smooth Skin and Awakening for the Body and Mind

One of the first things I do every morning is dry skin brushing. It’s a wonderful body treatment for exfoliating and promoting beautiful soft skin, and is really worth the extra couple of minutes it takes each morning. If you don’t already practice this daily ritual, give it a go for the next 30 days and judge for yourself just how much softer your skin feels.

Dry skin brushing stimulates circulation, increases cell renewal, tightens skin and improves texture, helps in the treatment of cellulite, cleans the lymphatic system and strengthens the immune system, removes dead skin layers and stimulates glands, thus helping all your body systems to perform more efficiently. All that from just a few minutes each morning. Amazing huh!

Some tips to remember…
– buy a natural (not synthetic) bristle brush
– choose one with a long handle so that you can reach all areas of your body
– skin brush before showering in the morning
– do not wet your skin or the brush
– always brush towards the heart in long, smooth strokes
– start with the soles of your feet first, then the ankles, calves, thighs, stomach and buttocks and then your back, hands and arms
– take care and do lighter strokes around your chest
– do not brush your face or other sensitive or irritated areas
– and finally… follow with a shower

Each morning when I am out of the shower I apply a light layer of hydration to help keep my skin feeling silky soft, and to avoid that frightening crocodile look. So, I opt for body oils in the cooler months for the instant hit of nourishing plant oils that provide extra protection from the harsh wind chill factor. In the warmer months I prefer body lotions for their lighter feel and finish.

Be Genki Vitality Body Oil is a personal favourite at the moment. Containing 100% natural ingredients of jojoba oil, rosehip oil, sweet almond oil and a signature blend of pure essential oils – lemon, peppermint, rosemary and eucalyptus – to give a little “pick me up”, it’s the perfect natural body product packed full of luxurious plant oils to promote soft glowing skin and a spring in your step to start the day. And don’t we all need a little help in that department sometimes?!

When it comes to Body Lotions, I am wholeheartedly a fan of the AEOS Beauty Body Lotion in Awakening. It’s the perfect go-anywhere product with a nifty little swivel top application and just the right size to fit in your handbag for touch-ups to legs and hands that cry out for a little moisture during the day. It’s packed full of luxurious ingredients such spelt oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, calendula oil, rose oil, lemon myrtle oil, ylang ylang oil and the essences of crystals and gems that all help to bring about a little awakening to the day. Heaven in a bottle! Oh, and did I mention that it is the perfect cream to apply before getting dressed, as it sinks in and doesn’t stick to my clothes.

I invite you to join me this month with the morning ritual of body brushing followed by full body moisturising to help lift your spirits and put a spring in your step so that you can get out and enjoy the day ahead.

Best wishes for soft, smooth and glowing limbs
