From Farm to Fridge

Warning … this is not going to be pleasant. In fact, it will make you squirm, weep and want to throw up. Well … that’s the affect it had on me. But it is an issue very close to my heart, with facts that need to be shared so that we can all make better, more informed, more conscious, more compassionate, and more loving choices.

It’s coming up to my anniversary of making the vegan choice. When I first made the switch I was ruthless. Not a single animal product went anywhere near my mouth. However as the months have ticked by I’ve noticed that I have become a little more relaxed about it. If I was out and about and the meal being served contained a little dairy, then I’d shrug my shoulders and think “oh well, best not be too fussy, it’s only a little piece of dairy, at least I am making vegan choices the other 99% of the time.” But, after seeing this movie I am once again inspired to improve upon that 99% and become a better version of me.

We can all stick our heads in the sand, if we so choose, and ignore the reality of what goes on in the world. Or we can do something about it. We live on this planet and have the power to vote every day with the choices we make at the supermarket/deli/grocery and department store. Every time you buy a product you are saying to that company, ‘keep on doing what you are doing.’ You are supporting everything that company does: every source of raw material, every packaging solution, every environmental standard that they are undertaking, every form of employee relations, every marketing choice.

Animals are sentient beings. I know for me, that I truly love, adore, am inspired by and respect animals, so how could I possibly support an industry that treats them in such a manner.

Please watch and share this video.

  1. Sam – you’re a stronger woman than I. I only watched the first few seconds of the film and threw up. Literally threw up. I am a vegetarian but not a complete vegan so I was wanting to be supportive of the cause by watching it but my stomach said otherwise.

I can only imagine what the rest of the video was like but I can tell you I have in an instant reconsidered my veganism. Thanks so much for sharing and keeping people aware. I wish more people felt the same.

    • Hi Justine, it’s absolutely awful isn’t it!!! I had to turn away at some points because it felt too painful to watch, but then forced myself to watch it, so that it sank in to my brain what is actually happening out there. Sorry to hear you threw up 😦 but YAY for you for being vegetarian!
