What Contribution Can You Be To Help Improve Your Health and Happiness?

Do you sometimes find yourself in a rut? Have you been telling yourself that you’re going to start that exercise regime or healthy eating or drinking less alcohol or quit smoking or starting that activity or much thought about dream? The only thing disabling you is YOU. It may be a hard pill to swallow but that is the reality. Your lifestyle is a result of the choices you make.

Personally, it’s very easy for me to get totally consumed in my work. I love what I do and it deeply interests and inspires me. There is ALWAYS a neverending to-do list that grows each day. Whilst this is a great thing and I count myself lucky. I do have to be mindful to keep the scales balanced or I run the risk of burn out and self-neglect … getting so engrossed in my work that I forget to consciously go out and do the other things that make me the happy and healthy me. My exercise routine may slip only happening twice a week, two months may go by without me having a massage, or getting down to the beach.

It may sound a bit silly, but really it isn’t. It’s my belief and has been my experience and observation that the key to health and happiness is being conscious to keep a mindful eye on the balance of all aspects of your life each and every day, week and month: relationships, work, good nutrition, ‘me’ time, exercise, education, inspiration and relaxation.

So… what contribution can you be to help improve your health and happiness? It’s easy to put things off until tomorrow. But what happens when that tomorrow never comes or when it does it’s too late?

One thing I often hear from women is that they never make the time to pamper themselves. What about making it a date this February to set aside a half hour just for YOU, and implent this ritual in to your lifestyle every week or month.
