Lipsticks and lip colours are renowned for being highly toxic. A few years ago we all became privy to the alarming fact that a considerable number of cosmetic manufacturers add trace amounts of lead to lipstick. A frightening fact considering lead builds up in the body, so a small amount applied to the lips several times each day, 7 days a week, could add up to a significant amount a few years down the track.
Then there are the wonderfully addictive lip balms that come in all sorts of colours, flavours and scents but if you read the fine print you’ll discover that you’re often licking your lips with a side of petroleum byproducts, potentially toxic chemicals and artificial flavors. I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer not to ingest those nasties that can get in to my bloodstream, fat cells and then harm my unborn babies.
So… luckily for all of us INIKA have saved the day with a fabulous range of “lip whips” in a beautiful (and wearable) range of colours made from 100% natural ingredients, including Macadamia Oil, Honey, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Jojoba and Rosehip Oils keep your lips soft and hydrated.
I have become addicted to the Apricot one and have the Berry on standby for when I next get dressed up for a night out.
Oh… and they have also released a fab liquid foundation that is all natural and has a beautiful natural looking finish. (Just in case you’re finding it difficult to track down the US based SUKI Tinted Active Moisturiser that I wrote about in a previous article)
What natural alternatives have you discovered that also deliver great results?
