Choose an Exercise Routine That Suits You and Enjoy an Improved State of Vibrant Wellbeing

keeping in shapeI don’t know about you, but I really start to feel it if I don’t exercise for a few weeks: I become more lazy and sleep in that little bit longer, I become brilliant at conjuring up reasons why I deserve my sleep ins, my mood drops, I lack inspiration and no longer have that spring in my step or vibrant energy that I love so much. It scares the pants off me!

So as not to fall in to that trap again I have made a commitment of 5 times a week to just do it. Whether it’s a yoga class, yoga in my lounge room, kickboxing, workout at the gym, walk in the park, swim in the lake or dance class, it’s got to be something active.

There is so much research out there stating that regular exercise is one of the best physical stress-reduction techniques, that it relaxes tense muscles, helps you to sleep, improves blood flow to the brain and releases chemicals called endorphins in to your blood stream giving you a feeling of happiness. Oh… and my favourite benefit of exercising is the healthy glow it brings out in your complexion. So, if exercise is not a part of your daily life and you suffer from low energy levels, stress, feelings of unhappiness or an inability to fall asleep, how about incorporating 30 – 45 minutes of exercise in to your daily life throughout the month of November and take notice of the change in your overall sense of well-being.

With the change of season and warm summer approaching there’s no better time to get up a little earlier and get active. The most important thing to do is to choose an exercise routine that suits YOU. Exercise should be fun. It is difficult to maintain an exercise routine that you do not enjoy. Whether it be walking, yoga, pilates, tennis, swimming, rockclimbing, surfing, horse riding or a workout at the gym it needs to be something that YOU enjoy doing.

If exercise is already a part of your daily life, how about mixing up your routine and trying something new. I just recently moved to the desert for a few months and had
to reassess my total exercise routine… I usually spend Saturday and Sunday mornings running on the beach and swimming in the surf. But there’s not much soft sand or surf in the high desert, so I now do a dance class on Saturday mornings and kickboxing session on Sunday mornings, and whoa…. does my body feel great by working different muscle groups. How about using November as the month to challenge yourself to a different style of exercise.

VIT_BODY_OIL_BOXAnother favourite indulgence of mine throughout the warmer months is to apply Be Genki Vitality Body Oil. It’s a wonderful lightweight, moisture-intensive body oil to help soften your skin and is perfect for helping to nourish dry skin, especially after exercise, a shower, swimming or sunbathing. However the blend of essential oils – Peppermint, Lemon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary – is the real treat, leaving your skin lightly scented with a fresh aroma. The oils will also help to invigorate and provide you with that little “pick me up” after your workout. The base ingredients are Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil and Rosehip Oil – a luxurious combination of oils that are renowned as being beneficial in the regeneration and repair of your skin, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, stretch marks, scars and pigmentation. Pure joy!
