Meet My New Friend

So it seems I have a new friend. Not sure what he’s called yet (I’m open to any suggestions) … but nevertheless he’s been adding a little extra happiness to my days.

It all started about a month or two ago on Shire Farm – the Aura-Soma biodynamic farm – in Lincolnshire, when little lambs were popping out left, right and centre. It was so so cute to see tens of little ones jumping about the place. But one of them I took a particular love for … as he had one extra long “white sock” on his back leg. Continue reading

Embrace Earth Month by Making a Conscious Effort to Reduce Your Footprint on the Earth and Support Eco-Aware Companies

What if you spent the month of April making a conscious effort to reduce your footprint on the planet?

We all have to make decisions each and every day about how we choose to live our life and the products we choose to purchase. There are many alternatives that we can start to integrate in to our lives to help make the planet a cleaner, healthier and more enjoyable place to live. Continue reading

Loving this New Blog for Daily Inspirations

One little ritual that I have been loving lately is starting my day reading the “thought for the day” from the AEOS BLOG. It’s been a fabulous little reminder to implement all sorts of helpful, mindful and conscious practices in to my daily life.

For example, today’s thought for the day is:

Agree to disagree
Today is a day to practice caring, warmth and kindness toward ourselves. Self acceptance, extending outward to the world, helps to bring about healing and transformation in the conscious mind. Continue reading

Spotted! Shire Farm Rabbits Practicing Their Daily Meditation

Shire Farm is one of those mystical places that leave you drifting off in to fairy land. Whether its the rolling hills, meandering stream, huge crystals planted in the ground, or the heart shaped pond, a visit to Shire Farm is something that opens the imagination, nurtures the soul, and uplifts the spirit.

Having had the wonderful opportunity to be based just a quick drive from the Aura-Soma (Demeter-certified) biodynamic ‘Shire Farm’ for the past few months, its been a joy to visit regularly. However my visit this afternoon as the sun was setting was particularly exciting, as we discovered rabbit tracks making their way up the chakra path and pausing at the various chakra crystals … which can really only mean one thing, don’t you think, that our lovely little fluffy furry friends enjoy their daily meditation at Shire Farm. ;) Continue reading

It’s Easy Being Green

We have a strong ecological commitment at Be Genki to work towards a better, brighter and cleaner future for the world in which we live in. I am constantly looking at ways in which we can reduce our impact on the environment via my business and personal life. As I learn from others and become more aware of choices, Be Genki becomes more green, more healthy, and more of a means to help inspire holistic happiness and positive change.

Over the past year, having the opportunity to learn from Aura-Soma (manufacturer of Active Energised Organic Skincare and Pegasus Parfum) I have been particularly inspired by the commitment and dedication of Aura-Soma to continue to step up to the demands of sustainability by doing more than their “part” in working towards “green” choices. Mike Booth talks about our Shift in Values, AEOS and Pegasus

Very interesting interview with Mike Booth, Chairman of Aura-Soma, the company that manufactures the wonderful AEOS (Active Energised Organic Skincare) and Pegasus Perfume products.

extracts from the interview: “The Cosmetic industry is going towards, beauty comes from the inside, not what you put on the skin. So that’s where I think we can really help, because we’ve been working for nearly 30 years on what is on the inside and the inner beauty. Continue reading

Natural and Organic Perfume Just in Time for the Party Season. Hooray!

Many years ago when starting my deep dive in to the world of natural skincare, personal care and all-things-organic, the first thing I threw out from my bathroom cabinet was the bottle of perfume, vowing never to use conventional fragrances ever again. Reason being, I was horrified by the effect that synthetic fragrances and fixatives had on my health, and wondered how on earth it was possible for companies to legally sell such poison and why it wasn’t common knowledge. Green Inspiration from Switzerland

The first thoughts that come to mind when I hear the word Switzerland are ‘eco’ and ‘green’ – not only for the beautiful lush green valleys and mountains sprinkled with pretty flowers, but also for the admirable respect the people of Switzerland have for nature, the environment and sustainability. And how apparent that it is indeed green that we associate with this region. Continue reading

Made With Love

harvesting of biodynamic spelt crops for use in the Active Energised Organic Skincare range

In today’s world, it seems that we are bombarded with brands making bold claims to be “this” or “that” and nowhere else is this more apparent than the beauty industry.

When we read the label of a product and it claims to be natural, organic and/or made with love, how do we really know if that’s true or not? Continue reading

Postcards from Shire Farm

This first video clip is not actually at Shire Farm. Just a lovely little field that we stumbled across whilst going for morning walks.

At Shire Farm in Lincolnshire, where many of the plants and herbs are grown using bio-dynamic methods for the Aura-Soma colour-care product range and AEOS skin care range, standing stones have been placed at the energy centres within the landscape. These chakra areas with standing stones and other natural and sculpted formations mirror the human chakra energy system, enhancing the natural flow and wellbeing of the energy of the farm, and enriching the fertility of the soil. If you’re interested in reading more about Shire Farm click here for a previous blog entry written after my first visit. Generate Love for Mother Earth

As I sit in my hotel room in Tokyo I feel compelled to write something about the current situation in Japan. No… I’m not going to get all “political” on you. I would, however, like to share a very important message that is inspired by a dear friend who I am truly honored to be able to share time with and learn from, Mike Booth, the Chairman of Aura-Soma. Continue reading
