Sometimes its just lovely to simply sit and be, especially when surrounded by nature, as you never know what might show up.

I couldn’t resist sharing these beautiful moments in time from my last weekend in the countryside, whilst pausing for a moment on a tree stump.

Such a joy to be gifted a herd of wild deer playing about and doing their thing, and then a duck doing a little dance on water. I kid you not! Look closely at the picture below.

Nature has an abundance of love and beauty to share with us, if only we take the time to stop, look and “smell the roses”. Whether its a bumble bee buzzing around flowers, or the beauty of the intensity of flowers, or birds flying in their formations or an endless list of other wonders. What could you see today if you paused for a moment and opened your eyes?

Having had the wonderful opportunity to be based just a quick drive from the Aura-Soma (Demeter-certified) biodynamic ‘Shire Farm’ for the past few months, its been a joy to visit regularly. However my visit this afternoon as the sun was setting was particularly exciting, as we discovered rabbit tracks making their way up the chakra path and pausing at the various chakra crystals … which can really only mean one thing, don’t you think, that our lovely little fluffy furry friends enjoy their daily meditation at Shire Farm.

We all have relationships. Whether they are with our family, friends or lovers, they are all sacred friendships that require a certain amount of energy so that they remain positive. One relationship that we often forget about is the relationship we have with ourself. This is the most important of them all, and the one from which all other relationships stem from. It you don’t love yourself, how can you truly love someone else?

With Valentine’s Day in the air and red roses everywhere you turn, what a great excuse to indulge in a loving, nurturing, self-caring ritual.

Step 1: Head to your local florist and treat yourself to a bouquet of fresh roses.

Step 2: Place them in a vase on your bedside table, coffee table or wherever else you’ll be able to enjoy them.

Step 3: Dim the lights of your bathroom, close the door and run a warm bath. Add a splash of Be Genki Sensuality Bath and Shower Oil to the bath and slip in. For the next 20 minutes focus on your breathing and let yourself go. With every breath you take, breathe in relaxation and love, and breathe out your worries and judgments of self.

Step 4: Slowly step out of the bath, pat yourself dry and apply a light layer of Be Genki Sensuality Body Oil to rehydrate and soften the skin. As you work your way up from your feet to your arms, be grateful for every part of your body and practice “positive self talk” by thanking your body for all that it is and for all that it has the potential to be.

Step 5: Curl up on the couch (or bed) in front of your bouquet of fresh flowers and take a moment to enjoy the beauty and vibrancy of nature.

Over the past year, having the opportunity to learn from Aura-Soma (manufacturer of Active Energised Organic Skincare and Pegasus Parfum) I have been particularly inspired by the commitment and dedication of Aura-Soma to continue to step up to the demands of sustainability by doing more than their “part” in working towards “green” choices.

Last weekend we spent a day on Aura-Soma’s (Demeter-certified) biodynamic Shire Farm where they have just completed a large tree planting project which covers 25 acres and 15,000 trees. After walking for over an hour to view the plantation, that’s a LOT of trees! The trees are mixed native species including Alder, Ash, Birch, Hazel, Hawthorn and many more. As well as enhancing the environment and providing a habitat for wildlife, these new woodlands will play an important role in water management, tackling climate change and promoting biodiversity. But this is nothing new for Aura-Soma. Long before “carbon-neutral”, “green” and “environmental sustainability” became buzz words, Aura-Soma had been actively involved in the planting of trees and the establishment of sustainable woodland. For the last 25 years to be precise.

Not only was the walk a beautiful way to spend the weekend, breathing in fresh clean country air; it was also a wonderful joy to see the positive effect that one company can have on the environment and future health and happiness of the earth we share. And moments like this always leave me pondering and questioning.

Whilst we don’t have a spare 25 acres of land to plant our own woodland, we can make conscious choices every day about which companies to support, helping those that share the same philosophy as we do. My thought about all this, is that if you’re going to buy a product, why not choose one that not only delivers the results you’re looking for, but also one that is actively doing its “part” in generating a better, brighter and cleaner world which we all live in.

extracts from the interview: “The Cosmetic industry is going towards, beauty comes from the inside, not what you put on the skin. So that’s where I think we can really help, because we’ve been working for nearly 30 years on what is on the inside and the inner beauty. To use the resources that we have – the crystals, the gems, the herbs and the plants, the energies of Aura-Soma in a cosmetic products is like, we’re given an opportunity to go in to the mainstream with something that can be really supportive of people and getting in touch with the inner beauty and helping them to experience what these subtle energies are really all about. When people see my images a lot of times they say “oh my god”. Have you ever wondered what that meant? The “oh” means it caught your attention. It makes you present. It makes you mindful. The “my” means it connects to something deep within your soul. It creates a gateway for your inner voice to rise up and be heard. And “God”, God is a personal journey we all want to be on. To be inspired. To feel like we are connected to a universe that celebrates life.

Did you know that 80% of the information we receive comes through our eyes, and if you compare light energy to musical scales, it would only be one octave that that the naked eye can see that is right in the middle. And aren’t we grateful for our brains that can take this electrical impulse that comes from light energy to create images in order for us to explore our world. And aren’t we grateful that we have hearts that can feel these vibrations in order for us to allow ourselves to feel the pleasure and the beauty of nature.

Nature’s beauty is a gift that cultivates appreciation and gratitude.

Do you think that this is just another day in your life? It’s not just another day. It’s the one day that is given to you today. It’s given to you. It’s a gift. It’s the only gift that you have right now, and the only appropriate response is gratefulness. If you do nothing else but to cultivate that response through the great gift that this unique day is. If you learn to respond as if it were the first day in your life and the very last day, then you will have spent this day very well. Begin by opening your eyes and be surprised that you have eyes you can open. That incredible array of colors that is constantly offered to us for pure enjoyment. Look at the sky. We so a rarely look at the sky. We so rarely note how different it is from moment to moment.

I wish you that you will open your heart to all these blessings and let them flow through you, that everyone who you will meet on this day will be blessed by you, just by your eyes, by your smile, by your touch, just by your presence. Let the gratefulness overflow in to blessing all around you. Then it will really be a good day.
