Louie Schwartzberg’s TED talk on Gratitude

Another amazingly beautiful TED talk by Louie Schwartzberg.

Some of my favorite bits:

When people see my images a lot of times they say “oh my god”. Have you ever wondered what that meant? The “oh” means it caught your attention. It makes you present. It makes you mindful. The “my” means it connects to something deep within your soul. It creates a gateway for your inner voice to rise up and be heard. And “God”, God is a personal journey we all want to be on. To be inspired. To feel like we are connected to a universe that celebrates life. Continue reading

Create a Space of Relaxation, Serenity and Love this December, by Making it a Priority to be Kind and Thoughtful to Your Self.

Whilst the holiday season is something that most of us look forward to, jumping with joy, it can also become a little stressful, frustrating and exhausting.

With the risk of sounding a little like the Scroodge, please be sensible. It’s not called the silly season for no reason. Partying, drinking, indulging, overeating and running around like a headless chicken from event-to-event and shop-to-shop, trying to please everyone but yourself, it’s no wonder many of us feel tired, rundown, overweight and stressed as the new year rolls around. Green Inspiration from Switzerland

The first thoughts that come to mind when I hear the word Switzerland are ‘eco’ and ‘green’ – not only for the beautiful lush green valleys and mountains sprinkled with pretty flowers, but also for the admirable respect the people of Switzerland have for nature, the environment and sustainability. And how apparent that it is indeed green that we associate with this region. Continue reading

Become Consciously Aware of What Goes In and On Your Body

October 1st is the kick off day for Vegetarian Awareness Month. A wonderful initiative to help inspire us to think about what goes in our mouth and how our choices can impact the world in which we share. We can all stick our head in the sand, if we so choose, and ignore the reality of what goes on in the world. Or we can do something about it. Continue reading

I Would Rather Stumble A Thousand Times

I am forever grateful and deeply inspired by people who live their lives boldly; those who aren’t afraid to take that leap of faith in to the unknown; to follow their heart and take risks so that their dreams can perhaps one day become a reality; to create new dreams; to step up and challenge the “norms” and what society conditions us to believe as “real” or “truth”; those who seek consciousness, to “wake up” from the disillusions of what it means to live, to be successful and to be happy. the Happy Film by Sagmeister Inc

Here’s a little snippet of happiness for your Monday morning. I hope it provides as much inspiration and joy for you as it does for me.

Can’t wait to see the complete documentary – a visually driven film by Sagmeister about happiness. Its a proper look at all the strategies serious psychologists recommend that improve wellbeing, they include meditation, cognitive therapy and psychological drugs. Love it!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole

A little slice of heaven to help inspire a week filled with love, hope and dreams. Can’t help but fall in love with Iz’s voice and all that he emanates.

“There Is No Way to Happiness. Happiness Is The Way.” Gautama Buddha

What is it about Bali that we love so much? Yes the climate is magnificent. Yes the beaches are stunning. Yes the scenery is sublime with a beautiful balance of softness and dramatic harshness. Yes the laid-back lifestyle is alluring. Bali is simply satisfying to the senses.

However, despite all these obvious charms, I believe the real beauty of Bali and that which draws us to the island again and again is the unmistakable spirituality emanating from the land and people. Continue reading

From Farm to Fridge

Warning … this is not going to be pleasant. In fact, it will make you squirm, weep and want to throw up. Well … that’s the affect it had on me. But it is an issue very close to my heart, with facts that need to be shared so that we can all make better, more informed, more conscious, more compassionate, and more loving choices. How Do We Know That We Have Truly Forgiven?

Forgiveness is a tricky one, and certainly a concept that I have been pondering over for years. I’ve read various articles and books, and heard many different points-of-view in respect to how important it is to forgive and let go of the hurt and bitterness of the past. But it’s easier said than done. How often do we feel that we have forgiven and “moved on” only to discover a year or two or ten later that we are still carrying around a small part of that anger, hurt, betrayal or injustice? How do we truly know that we have truly forgiven? Continue reading
