Be Genki rituals, or have been reading and following them for years I’d love to express my deepest gratitude for your support and for simply taking a moment in time to stop whatever it is that you’re doing to read the latest post.

After a lovely holiday over the Christmas break, I’ve decided to hang up my Be Genki blog boots for 12 months to focus on Be Naturallyou – my latest project and that which is particularly close to my heart. Terribly sorry if you’ve grown to love the Be Genki blog but there’s only so much a girl can do / fit in to one day; and I am sure that you will love Be Naturallyou. After years of study, research and working in the health and beauty industry I have been inspired to share my knowledge and experience via this new website in the hope that it will help inspire a more naturally beautiful you.

In a world with so much conflicting information, advertising everywhere we turn, and a large number of brands concerned more with profit return than the long-term health of their customers, it’s no surprise that we’re a little misled and confused about what beauty products to use, what foods to consume, and how best to improve our natural beauty.

I hope to clear a lot of the confusion by providing straight-forward, factual information, including:
~ a list of cosmetic ingredients to avoid and why
~ a directory of natural ingredients that help to promote beautiful skin
~ a tried and tested page of my favourite natural beauty finds
~ the foods to consume to help promote clean, clear beautiful skin
~ nutritious and delicious recipes to help promote a beautiful body inside and out
~ lifestyle rituals to help promote inner and outer beauty
~ reviews of heavenly healthy spa retreats
~ and my favorite page is the interviews with naturally beautiful and inspiring women from around the world

One area you may find particularly interesting is the Brand Directory page that has brands added each week. I have been so impressed over the years by a number of FAB beauty brands and desired to create a central location to share with beauty conscious women who are seeking natural and organic skin care. I spend my life researching this stuff, but the average person does not have the time to do this, so I’ve essentially done a lot of the ground work for you to log on to the website and then choose a brand that suits you. There are a considerable number of ethical brands out there who are doing their part to contribute to the health and beauty of their customers and planet that we share. It’s up to us to choose them.

It has been an absolute joy to create this website and share the information that I gather whether that be inspiring interviews, or a healthy vegan recipe that I create, or a dreamy spa review that the lovely Kris Abbey from Spa Life magazine contributes, or another beautiful beauty brand. It’s a tool that has also inspired me to take a closer look at my lifestyle to make small changes to help improve my own natural health and beauty.

So I encourage you to log on to be naturallyou and integrate something new in to your daily life to help bring about a more naturally beautiful you, whether it be lifestyle, nutrition or skin care related.

Make the Commitment to Exercise, to Help Reduce Stress and Improve the Healthy Glow of your Complexion

I don’t know about you, but I really start to feel it if I don’t exercise for a few weeks: I become more lazy and sleep in that little bit longer, I become brilliant at conjuring up reasons why I deserve my sleep ins, my mood drops, I lack inspiration and no longer have that spring in my step or vibrant energy that I love so much. It scares the pants off me!

So as not to fall in to that trap again I have made a commitment of 5 times a week to just do it. Whether it’s a yoga class, yoga in my lounge room or hotel room, workout at the gym, walk in the countryside or dance session, it’s got to be something active. Continue reading

Inspired by Flowers

Have you ever stopped for a moment to get completely swept away by the beauty and vibrance of colour that flowers gift to the world? Quite something really!

It’s a little thing that I’ve been particularly captivated by lately, to just stop, pause and gaze for a few moments. Perhaps it’s because I just happen to be in the oh so lovely English countryside at present, with all the flowers blooming, or maybe it’s the little family of bees that greet me each morning and afternoon when I get home as they buzz around the flower bed at the front door, or perhaps it’s just nature’s way of gifting something truly beautiful to the day, or maybe it’s my deep dive in to Aura-Soma which has helped to open my eyes to the world of colour? The Importance of Balance

One of the initiatives that I love to do with Be Genki is to support environmental sustainability campaigns that work towards a better, brighter and cleaner future for the world we live in. So, we make a promise to donate 5% of profits each year to ensure that every Be Genki purchase also gives back to the planet.

Recently I came across a FABULOUS initiative that caught my attention and that we will be donating to from 2012 onwards, called … [ drum roll ] … Treehenge.

Meet My New Friend

So it seems I have a new friend. Not sure what he’s called yet (I’m open to any suggestions) … but nevertheless he’s been adding a little extra happiness to my days.

It all started about a month or two ago on Shire Farm – the Aura-Soma biodynamic farm – in Lincolnshire, when little lambs were popping out left, right and centre. It was so so cute to see tens of little ones jumping about the place. But one of them I took a particular love for … as he had one extra long “white sock” on his back leg. Continue reading

One thing is always for certain, if you’re having a particularly challenging moment in life, the best remedy is nature in all its innocence completely free from silly insignificant thoughts that pollute the minds of humans. Sweet little fluffy animals are undoubtedly therapy for the soul.

Have You Loved Enough

Lately I’ve been particularly inspired by an interview in The Times magazine with one of my favourite novelists, Paulo Coelho, best known for The Alchemist. When asked “What is the purpose of love?” Paulo replied,
