The Beauty of Nature : Wild Deer and a Duck Dancing on Water

Sometimes its just lovely to simply sit and be, especially when surrounded by nature, as you never know what might show up.

I couldn’t resist sharing these beautiful moments in time from my last weekend in the countryside, whilst pausing for a moment on a tree stump.

Such a joy to be gifted a herd of wild deer playing about and doing their thing, and then a duck doing a little dance on water. I kid you not! Look closely at the picture below. Continue reading

Who Are You … Really

So beautiful and so true. Definitely worth watching … promise you’ll love it :)

Spotted! Shire Farm Rabbits Practicing Their Daily Meditation

Shire Farm is one of those mystical places that leave you drifting off in to fairy land. Whether its the rolling hills, meandering stream, huge crystals planted in the ground, or the heart shaped pond, a visit to Shire Farm is something that opens the imagination, nurtures the soul, and uplifts the spirit.

Having had the wonderful opportunity to be based just a quick drive from the Aura-Soma (Demeter-certified) biodynamic ‘Shire Farm’ for the past few months, its been a joy to visit regularly. However my visit this afternoon as the sun was setting was particularly exciting, as we discovered rabbit tracks making their way up the chakra path and pausing at the various chakra crystals … which can really only mean one thing, don’t you think, that our lovely little fluffy furry friends enjoy their daily meditation at Shire Farm. ;) Continue reading

It’s Easy Being Green

We have a strong ecological commitment at Be Genki to work towards a better, brighter and cleaner future for the world in which we live in. I am constantly looking at ways in which we can reduce our impact on the environment via my business and personal life. As I learn from others and become more aware of choices, Be Genki becomes more green, more healthy, and more of a means to help inspire holistic happiness and positive change.

Over the past year, having the opportunity to learn from Aura-Soma (manufacturer of Active Energised Organic Skincare and Pegasus Parfum) I have been particularly inspired by the commitment and dedication of Aura-Soma to continue to step up to the demands of sustainability by doing more than their “part” in working towards “green” choices. Mike Booth talks about our Shift in Values, AEOS and Pegasus

Very interesting interview with Mike Booth, Chairman of Aura-Soma, the company that manufactures the wonderful AEOS (Active Energised Organic Skincare) and Pegasus Perfume products.

extracts from the interview: “The Cosmetic industry is going towards, beauty comes from the inside, not what you put on the skin. So that’s where I think we can really help, because we’ve been working for nearly 30 years on what is on the inside and the inner beauty. Continue reading

make a wish

Thank you for all your support throughout 2011. As always, I am truly grateful for your continued belief in Be Genki. Such a joy to be doing what I love to be doing, with continued love and encouragement from you.

I once heard a phrase that I like to remind myself of often:

those who believe in magic, are those who get to experience it.

Wishing you a wonderfully happy and healthy holidays with the new year bringing with it an abundance of love and magic.  xSam

What Could You See if You Opened Your Eyes Today?

Love this oh so important message from the lovely Dain Heer!
Open your eyes. What could you see around you that you haven’t been willing to see that’s been there all the time? What could you see if you were willing to just open your eyes and have a different point of view about the world? What could you see if you weren’t so focused on what seems like the problems of life and if you actually considered the possibilities that around you instead?

Louie Schwartzberg’s TED talk on Gratitude

Another amazingly beautiful TED talk by Louie Schwartzberg.

Some of my favorite bits:

When people see my images a lot of times they say “oh my god”. Have you ever wondered what that meant? The “oh” means it caught your attention. It makes you present. It makes you mindful. The “my” means it connects to something deep within your soul. It creates a gateway for your inner voice to rise up and be heard. And “God”, God is a personal journey we all want to be on. To be inspired. To feel like we are connected to a universe that celebrates life. Continue reading

Create a Space of Relaxation, Serenity and Love this December, by Making it a Priority to be Kind and Thoughtful to Your Self.

Whilst the holiday season is something that most of us look forward to, jumping with joy, it can also become a little stressful, frustrating and exhausting.

With the risk of sounding a little like the Scroodge, please be sensible. It’s not called the silly season for no reason. Partying, drinking, indulging, overeating and running around like a headless chicken from event-to-event and shop-to-shop, trying to please everyone but yourself, it’s no wonder many of us feel tired, rundown, overweight and stressed as the new year rolls around. Green School

I first heard about Green School via a TED talk a number of years ago, so when the invitation presented itself to visit whilst in Bali with some dear friends we jumped at the opportunity.

Love the concept! Loved seeing all the little kiddies running around outside, playing in nature, as opposed to cooped up indoors underneath fluorescent lighting playing with plastic toys or in front of a computer screen. Love the vegetable gardens interspersed between the classrooms. Loved the farmyard animals. Love that the entire school is built from bamboo. Continue reading

Green Inspiration from Switzerland

The first thoughts that come to mind when I hear the word Switzerland are ‘eco’ and ‘green’ – not only for the beautiful lush green valleys and mountains sprinkled with pretty flowers, but also for the admirable respect the people of Switzerland have for nature, the environment and sustainability. And how apparent that it is indeed green that we associate with this region. Continue reading
